The imposing arched road bridge was built in just six months in 1895. With a length of around 25 metres and a width of 13.6 metres, it spans the flood channel of the Gera. Built from about 170,000 bricks and 500 m³ of reinforced concrete, it still bears witness to impressive engineering. Once used by the tram, today it belongs equally to pedestrians and city traffic.
Enjoy a relaxed walk and reach the Krämpfertor Bridge in just about 15 minutes on foot – an ideal destination to experience Erfurt’s history up close.
